This Plus-Size Store Hired Male Models — and Shoppers Went Wild

A plus-size women’s clothing store in Heze, Shandong just showed how far offline retail marketing in China is willing to go — and the internet is loving it.

The store reportedly spent around 20,000 yuan to invite a group of male models (not celebrities, but trained models) to do an in-store walk and warm-up show. But they weren’t there just to pose. These models also acted as shopping assistants, offering what might be the most attentive service ever 😅🕺

According to videos shared online, the models helped customers carry shopping bags, escorted them to their cars after checkout, and even gave some shoppers a full-on princess carry. The store quickly filled up with cheering, filming, and laughter as customers crowded around, turning a normal shopping trip into a mini event.

One viral Douyin clip joked, “This 20,000 yuan was well spent,” and the comments agreed. Some shoppers didn’t just come for the show — they shopped hard. Videos showed customers buying clothes in bulk, with at least one shopper reportedly purchasing 30 pieces in one go 🛍️

The store focuses on plus-size women’s fashion, a fast-growing niche in China as consumer demand becomes more segmented. Today’s fashion market isn’t one-size-fits-all anymore — from plus-size and mature women to office wear and Gen-Z styles, niche stores are booming.

This wasn’t just a gimmick. It was smart, targeted marketing — and a reminder that understanding your customers is still the ultimate flex ✨
