A Chinese makeup artist is going viral online for turning internet memes into full-on makeup transformations — and the results are both hilarious and impressively accurate. 😂

The creator behind the trend is Zheng Zhenzhen, a 29-year-old makeup artist from Harbin in northeast China who runs the account “Call Me Zheng Zhenzhen.” As of March 2026, he has built a following of over 1.3 million fans on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok.

Ironically, Zheng first gained attention for serious makeup skills. His earlier content focused on polished cosplay looks and beginner-friendly makeup tutorials, showing strong technique and detailed character recreations. But his recent viral breakout came after he pivoted to something much more chaotic: recreating internet memes with makeup.

In his videos, Zheng transforms himself into everything from viral cartoon faces to famous reaction memes and bizarre internet characters. The goal isn’t beauty — it’s accuracy. Using only makeup and manual techniques, he carefully copies the facial structure, expression, and vibe of the meme until the resemblance becomes almost uncanny.

One of his most viral looks recreates “Rose” from a strange 1.5-minute parody version of Titanic that circulates online in China. The original clip is famous for its terrible 3D graphics and awkward character modeling, with stiff faces and plastic-like expressions. Zheng recreated that exact look with makeup, copying the smooth skin, simplified facial features, and slightly cursed expression of the animated character. Side-by-side comparisons quickly spread across social media because the resemblance was almost perfect.

Fans also love that everything is done by hand — no filters, no AI effects. Followers constantly submit meme ideas, and Zheng turns them into makeup challenges, recreating them almost 1:1.

The result is a new kind of beauty content where professional makeup skills collide with internet meme culture — and the internet can’t stop watching. 🎭🎨
