📦 These Cute Robots Take the Metro to Deliver Snacks in Shenzhen, China
Shenzhen has just launched the world’s first autonomous subway delivery system — with 41 “penguin” robots riding the metro to restock 7-Eleven stores inside train stations. 🐧🚇
These LED-faced robots plan their own routes, ride elevators, board trains, and drop off goods — all without human help. They're on the move during off-peak hours to avoid crowds.
This pilot is part of Shenzhen’s “Embodied Intelligent Robot Action Plan (2025–27)”, built by Shenzhen Metro Group and VX Logistics (under Vanke) to solve city delivery headaches like traffic, parking, and station access.
Right now, they’re testing at select stations — but the goal? To serve over 100 metro 7-Eleven stores across the city, reaching 9 million riders a day.
Even the store staff say: “With robots, it’s much easier and more convenient.”
China’s smart city future is already riding the rails 🇨🇳
