Fresh off the global success of Black Myth: Wukong, Game Science pulled another rabbit (or ghost) out of its hat at Gamescom — revealing its next project, Black Myth: Zhong Kui 👹🐯. The studio ended the show with a cinematic trailer showing Zhong Kui, the legendary ghost-slayer from Chinese folklore, riding a tiger and looking like the ultimate exorcist-in-chief.

But here’s the catch: there’s no gameplay yet, no release date, and even Game Science cheekily admitted the project is “little more than an empty folder” right now 📂. Instead of dropping a Wukong DLC, they chose to start fresh with a new myth, new gameplay, and new vibes — signaling that Black Myth is officially becoming a series.

The internet? Already losing it. The trailer shot to millions of views on Bilibili and the name “Zhong Kui” trended hard across platforms. Some fans were salty (“at least finish Wukong DLC first!”), but most are hyped for the bold pivot.

So yeah, between a monkey king, a ghost king, and possibly more legends in the future — Game Science is basically building its own Chinese mythology gaming universe. And we’re all here for it 🎮🔥.
