China opens world’s tallest bridge, and yes, there’s a café upstairs😂

China just delivered another record-breaking feat of engineering 💪🌉.

China just delivered another record-breaking feat of engineering 💪🌉. The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge in Guizhou opened this week, instantly claiming the title of world’s tallest bridge at 625 meters (≈ 2,050 feet) above the Beipan River.

This wasn’t cheap or quick: government figures put the price tag at around 2 billion yuan (≈ USD 280 million), with construction starting in January 2022 and taking about 3 years 8 months to complete. The result is a structure spanning 2,890 meters with a 1,420-meter main suspension span, carrying four lanes of traffic across one of China’s most dramatic canyons.

The real flex? Cutting travel time across the gorge from 2 hours down to just 2 minutes. 🚗⚡ That’s not just a road — that’s time travel.

And because China can’t resist extra flair, one of the towers houses a coffee shop run by Captain George, a popular local brand from Guiyang. Visitors ride a glass elevator skyward, sip a latte above the clouds ☕☁️, and snap the ultimate skyline selfie.

The café isn’t the only thing catching eyes — the bridge itself is painted a striking blue, leading one netizen to joke: “Did Tiffany sponsor this bridge? 🤔” 😂
