In Guangdong, a wild bird has turned one guy’s houseplant into a nightly crash pad — and the internet into a support group. The bird returns around 6 p.m. every evening as it gets dark, then settles on the exact same leaf (out of dozens!) like it’s its personal bed.

The owner never tries to pet or approach it; afraid to scare it away, he simply keeps the window open 24/7, rain or shine, and watches quietly from afar. At 6 a.m. sharp, the bird takes off to hunt insects. Some mornings it looks adorably drowsy — feathers fluffed, eyes half-shut — yet still “commutes” to work. Netizens instantly related, joking, “That’s literally me going to the office.” 🥱💼

Fans begged the owner to leave water and mealworms so it could rest more, but the bird never touched them — apparently loyal to wild foraging.

The bird always comes alone, which makes people even more emotionally attached. Thousands now tune in to the owner’s livestream, worrying if it made it home safely during storms. Experts identified it as a Common Tailorbird, famous for stitching leaves into cozy nests.

One plant, one bird, and a million hearts watching it go to bed every night. 🥹📺
