Vivo Partners With CCTV News to Release Short Film Shot Entirely on the X500 Pro Max

Vivo and CCTV News produced a short film shot entirely on the X500 Pro Max, built around the message that ordinary people are the most compelling landscape.

Vivo has launched a cross-sector humanistic imaging campaign in collaboration with CCTV News (央视新闻) and cultural platform Qunyu Mountain (群玉山), producing a short film titled "The Most Beautiful Landscape" (最美的风景). The film was shot entirely on the vivo X500 Pro Max smartphone and aired on CCTV News in late September 2026.

The production captures real-life moments of ordinary people, filmed from the perspective of an actual X series user rather than a professional film crew. Its central message — rendered in Chinese as "people are the landscape" — positions the phone's "direct cinematic feel" capability as a tool for documenting everyday authenticity rather than staged spectacle.

By broadcasting through CCTV News, vivo placed the campaign inside one of China's highest-reach state media channels, framing a consumer device launch within the visual language of public-interest documentary.

The pairing of a flagship smartphone with state broadcaster CCTV News reflects a well-established playbook in China's consumer tech market, where credibility signals from authoritative media institutions carry weight that conventional advertising cannot easily replicate. Anchoring the campaign in humanistic documentary aesthetics — ordinary faces, unscripted moments, a philosophic tagline — is a deliberate move to differentiate imaging capability on emotional rather than purely technical grounds.
