LOEWE & Wang Yibo bring a Chinese classic back to life for the Year of the Horse

LOEWE just dropped a Lunar New Year collab that’s equal parts nostalgia and high-fashion daydream.

LOEWE just dropped a Lunar New Year collab that’s equal parts nostalgia and high-fashion daydream. For 2026’s Year of the Horse, the Spanish luxury brand teamed up with China’s legendary Shanghai Animation Film Studio to reimagine the classic story Xiao Ma Guo He (Little Pony Crosses the River) — and the campaign stars none other than Wang Yibo, LOEWE’s global brand ambassador.

The animated short follows a small pony on a coming-of-age quest to fetch a lantern for its village’s reunion celebration. Along the way, it meets quirky animal pals — a deer and even a platypus — and bumps into Wang Yibo himself in live-action sequences that blend seamlessly with the animation. Think heartfelt childhood vibes meets cinematic style.

What makes this collab fun is how LOEWE leans into the story’s theme of courage and growth, aligning it with New Year milestones like family reunions and lighting lanterns — and of course, Yibo’s charm helps sell the feels.

No hard sell here — but expect the visuals (and the soundtrack vibes, if released) to spread fast on socials as fans fall for this creative mix of animation, star power, and CNY spirit — all wrapped up in LOEWE’s signature luxe look.
