Diptyque Opens Ten-Day Sensory Pop-Up in Shanghai to Launch "The Art of Bathing Healing" Body Care Series

Diptyque's ten-day Shanghai pop-up at Shamei Building immerses visitors in ancient bathing ritual to launch its new "Art of Bathing Healing" body care series.

Diptyque is running a pop-up sensory space at Shamei Building in Shanghai from September 4 to September 13, 2026, to introduce its new body care series titled "沐愈之艺" (The Art of Bathing Healing). The installation draws on ancient Greek and Roman bathing culture, weaving together scent, light, water sounds, and touch across a structured ten-day run.

The experience is divided into two chapters. The morning chapter, "晨醒," uses bergamot fragrance to engage the senses at the start of the day. The evening chapter, "夜归," centres on chamomile and sage scented candles to mark the close of it. Visitors can interact with the full product range tied to the launch: a cleansing gel (清润多效清洁露), a natural bath sponge (天然沐浴海绵), a rich body cream (丰润身体霜), and a ceramic massage board (陶瓷按摩板).

The activation is offline-only, anchored entirely to the Shamei Building location for its ten-day duration.

The format — a tightly themed, multi-sensory retail environment built around a single product story — reflects a broader pattern among luxury beauty brands in China, where pop-up spaces increasingly function as experiential proof-of-concept for new lines rather than simply promotional backdrops. Grounding the narrative in classical bathing ritual gives the product range a cultural depth that standard in-store merchandising rarely achieves.
