This National Day (Oct 1–7, 2025), Chongqing is turning the night sky into its biggest party yet 🎉 — with daily drone light shows taking over from 20:30 each night 🌃.

Dubbed “Xin Yun Chongqing” (New Rhythm Chongqing), the show is part of the city’s “Glamorous Chongqing / Meili Chongqing” permanent drone program launched in April. Each performance lasts about 15 minutes, with a short 3-minute city-lighting prelude 🌟. Drone formations will render everything from urban skylines 🏙️ and mountain motifs ⛰️ to cultural symbols like the camellia 🌺 and themes of “city + people + nature.”

In June, Chongqing already made global headlines when 11,787 drones flew in formation — breaking the Guinness World Record for “largest aerial image formed by multirotors/drones.” That jaw-dropping show proved what the local tech team can pull off 🚁✨ — and now they’re back for a full week of nightly spectacles.

Best viewing spots include Chaotianmen, Jiangbeizui, Nanbin Road, and along the two rivers’ waterfronts 🚶. A Reddit user hyped up the Clock Tower Square on Nanbin Road, calling it “incredibly wide” for the best panoramic views.

Traffic control will be in place, and no private drones allowed in the performance zone 🙅‍♂️. So bring your phone (or just your “jaw dropped” face), grab a riverside spot early, and watch Chongqing’s skyline glow up like never before. 🎇
