Chinese countryside creator Xiaoying, real name Yang Zaoying, is going viral for a glow-up that feels way bigger than skincare ✨

The Yunnan creator behind “Xiaoying Yijia” built her following by showing real village life: farming, raising cattle, doing housework, and raising two kids almost entirely on her own. Born in 1996 in a low-income rural family, she grew her account to over 4 million followers, with livestream sales reportedly exceeding 10 million yuan a year.

But behind the “hardworking rural mom” image was an 11-year abusive marriage. In early 2026, Xiaoying revealed in a livestream that the scar on her forehead wasn’t an accident — it came from being beaten by her ex-husband Wang Shifu (Shanglaru) and the woman he allegedly cheated with, reportedly his own cousin.

She also accused him of long-term emotional and financial abuse: drinking, not working, spending her money, and later trying to claim her income after she became successful — even demanding “1 yuan per follower” (around 4 million yuan). He reportedly disrupted her livestreams, cursed at viewers, and continued harassing her. In November 2025, he was reportedly detained after a drunk-driving hit-and-run that seriously injured someone, cutting him off from her life completely.

Now Xiaoying has moved to Kunming with her kids, set up a company fully owned by herself, and is making stable income through livestreams and brand deals 💰 She’s focused on raising her children, putting them into better schools, and building a new life on her own terms.

And the change is obvious: brighter eyes, healthier skin, better style — but more importantly, peace. Netizens aren’t just calling it a glow-up, they’re calling it what happens when someone finally gets their life back.

Sometimes the real glow-up isn’t beauty — it’s freedom 🧘‍♀️✨
