adidas stole the show at Shanghai Fashion Week — and the runway was just the beginning

adidas came to Shanghai Fashion Week with a runway show, but the catwalk was only one part of a much bigger plan.
From October 15 to 18, the brand took over Shanghai's ROJO Art & Culture Space with "adidas Presents: FUTURE OF THREE," an immersive event bringing together fashion, sport, music, food and art.
On the runway, adidas presented its Spring/Summer 2027 collections across womenswear, streetwear, skiwear, outdoor and Chinese-inspired designs. Y-3 also staged its first-ever runway show in China, with music running through the presentation as a central part of the storytelling.
Beyond the runway, the STAN SMITH Residency brought rare sneakers from the adidas archive in Germany to Shanghai, alongside a preview of upcoming STAN SMITH designs, art installations and daily live sets by emerging local musicians.
Outdoors, the Green Exchange Program invited visitors to bring a green object of their own and swap it for one of 100 on display. At Originals Sport Playground, guests could try roundnet, jianzi (shuttlecock kicking) and Chinese jump rope, while STAN SMITH Court hosted tennis-inspired activities.
After the show, the runway venue was transformed overnight into the FUTURE OF THREE Showroom, displaying key runway pieces and new releases, as well as collaborations with Simone Rocha, Song for the Mute, DIDU and GALI.
With fashion, music, sneaker history and outdoor games in one place, adidas used Shanghai Fashion Week to show what the Three Stripes can look like beyond sport.
